One of my regular customers asked me to build them some gates. I used some high quality pressure treated timber, all glued and screwed together. I also used heavy duty ironmongery and modified the field latch to make it wider – I cut it and welded a new section on top which doubles as a handle so that you can’t get your fingers caught under the heavy metal section as it scissor drops.
