For this project the customer wanted a cleaner fireplace now that they no longer want to burn logs. The riven tiles in front of the hearth were knocked out and I lined the inner walls with plasterboard, I also installed an adjustable vent to allow the room and flue to have controlled airflow. Then I tiled the sides and floors ready for the room to have new carpet. It was finished off with an oak mantelpiece I cut from timber supplied by Copford Sawmill.
I also sourced matching skirting to finish up to the surround properly.
