I fit kitchens, actually I do a great deal more than just fit kitchens, but here on this page I’ll explain how it all works.
What does this guy do?
You’ve found my site so have a look around and you’ll see a great variety of quality work, but of course I install kitchens, I rebuild them and I upgrade them, I also design them and can help you design and install yours too. I enjoy the extra bits, like adding in better storage solutions, building features that save space, modifying things to work better for you, and much more.
If there’s a trim panel beneath an oven that covers a hole – I have to make it earn it’s keep, I’ll add some hinges so you can store trays or similar, I don’t like wasted space. I like to make your fancy new LED lighting actually light up the work surface and not just the back wall, it’s simple things that make my kitchens a fraction better than your standard corporate fare.
I will cross trades, this means I will do the plumbing, the lighting, the circuits for the cookers, the tiling, I’ll even make the tea. I try to keep things as easy as possible and my ability to accomplish 99% if not 100% of your kitchen means you have a simpler life and a consistent finish.
What don’t I do?
I don’t install laminate or chipboard worktops, the quality in recent years has dropped, significantly. I will use real wood and will organise stone. If you do want chipboard or similar I’ll try and get someone in or work with your people.
I don’t do Gas, I’m not Gas Safe registered and have no intention of signing up, but I will (and do) organise trusted people to cover that specialism.
My process:
You want a new kitchen, this could be a quick refurb, full tear-out and new install, some modifications, or perhaps you just need someone to install the kitchen you have already ordered.
I start with a site visit or survey to discuss what you want and I try to understand what you actually need too, from there we put a plan together to design and price up the project.
In most cases you would pay the kitchen supplier/manufacturer directly, your kitchen gets delivered to your property and this keeps me out of the big money spend, I then charge you for my time and any items I need to purchase like tooling, waste pipes, materials for bespoke items etc. I’ll keep you updated throughout the project of the necessary spending and will invoice you as we go, usually on a weekly basis and, of course, at the end of the job.
Did you notice I didn’t mention taking a deposit?
I don’t like to, however I do require 7 days notice if you want to cancel my services or I will have to invoice you for any lost time picking up more work, this has never happened and I have so many existing clients for all my services that it shouldn’t be an issue.
If you really wanted me to make all the purchasing on your behalf – I will ask you to pay those costs to me first so that I can make those purchases.
Splashback Travertine tiling
These Travertine stone tiles were requested by my customer, they needed sealing 3 times for use in the kitchen, I used an off-white grout to finish them with. It's probably the last part of the kitchen to be finished here, I have taken this project from the very start...
New kitchen installation in Sovereign Harbour
One of my existing clients bought a new kitchen from Wren and asked me to install it for them. The units are full gloss white with copper inset handles (or handle-less). I took care of the removal of the old kitchen right through to the finished new one. Lighting I...
Kitchen units and top installation
This project in Hampden Park has been done bit-by-bit over the last few months, the house is a developer's project so it's being done to a tight budget but with a very good finish. I've fitted all new units and plumbing, new oak worktops, new oven, hob and sink. I...
Splashback Tiling
A straightforward tiling job in Heathfield, some nice white antique looking tiles installed as the new kitchen’s splashback
Kitchen in Friday Street
This was a nice large project to get the teeth stuck into. The old kitchen was removed entirely, then the puzzle of installing the new kitchen began, this was tricky because we were reusing a good condition kitchen taken out of another house, so the units weren't the...
Kitchen cabinets
Finished off some cabinets this morning that had been missed by an installation team.
Updates to a recent kitchen
I have installed this kitchen recently and before it's tiled we've made a few adjustments and additions including this new shelf for the microwave and books of the clients. I used an offcut from the main kitchen oak worktops so it was fairly cheap to do, I also...
New oven door seal
This oven’s door seal failed and another one is hard to find, so in the meantime i fitted a general door seal that is cut to fit.
