This was a nice large project to get the teeth stuck into. The old kitchen was removed entirely, then the puzzle of installing the new kitchen began, this was tricky because we were reusing a good condition kitchen taken out of another house, so the units weren’t the sizes you would normally have ordered for this size room. The client wanted a few new parts like the oak worktops and sink. The family pulled in a favour for the painting and tiling while I was abroad which saved them a little money. I also installed the washing machine on the other side of the window wall in the conservatory so that we could put a dishwasher near the sink, this also required a matching worktop.
I cut down the wall partition so we could make a small breakfast bar which increased the overall usable worktop area.
