This project in Hampden Park has been done bit-by-bit over the last few months, the house is a developer’s project so it’s being done to a tight budget but with a very good finish.
I’ve fitted all new units and plumbing, new oak worktops, new oven, hob and sink. I have juggled the washing machine around so it can be accessed easily or swapped out for a dishwasher later on. There are some pipes that weren’t too pretty including the mains water inlet, I managed to box them in with a shallow working cupboard retaining access to the mains valve and giving the client some small storage space for washing powder etc.
The induction hob and over are yet to be wired in, but this is pending some work to be done to the floor. I have installed all new waste and pipework for the sink, which apart from looking much smarter and ensuring a good flow meant I could make a neat finish of the back of the sink cupboard.
You can see in the images I extended the worktop over the oven for the new hob, I did it this way with a biscuit cutter and clamps as it would look much neater than wrapping the worktop round the corner at 90º, and as you look into the kitchen from the front door end the lines of the timber are nice and clean.
There will be wall mounted units going in soon, painting and some shelving added. The floor is the next chapter then the kickboards (or plinths) can be cut and fixed too.
