A 2 day install of an engineered oak floor. I started by leveling up the old floor, removing any protrusions and making sure the floor was as clean as possible. Then some insulation panels were put down with a section of electric underfloor heating mat wired in too. Next is the fitting of the oak planking leaving a small gap around all edges, I cut the kitchen units end panels so that the floor just tucks underneath. This was fitted into the kitchen, dining room, hallway, downstairs toilet and into the cupboard beneath the stairs. All the gaps at the edges were covered with some matching oak trim which takes a long time as there are so many unique angles to deal with, plus this trim must allow the boards to move beneath slightly with temperature expansion.
