Part of a larger project, this retaining wall from oak sleepers needed to be strong but maintain a smooth curve round the reshaped driveway. I dug a deep trench and concreted the sleepers sourced from a West Sussex mill in with a drainage pipe behind to ensure minimal seepage through the timbers and to control the moisture levels in the terraced bed. The driveway edging blocks were also concreted in against the sleepers to increase their strength.
