A friend has asked me to replicate a part that is currently unavailable for his second race bike, the original is aluminium, but to keep it slim and because I don’t currently weld ali I have made them from steel, there are 2x 8mm holes, 1 is threaded, and there are 2 perpendicular holes for grub screws to help secure it to the bike.
It’s been a nice little challenge, i quickly painted them while they were still hot to help bake the paint, this gave them a slightly rough finish but will be hidden from view – I didn’t want them leaving orange rust stains after a wet race. They are slightly different, 1 replicates the original angles and the other flatter version is simpler and should still work fine on this particular bike.
